A food manufacturer and RMA worked together to prepare a corrective action plan (treatability study) in response to a consent agreement with the local POTW due to a notice of violation. The corrective action plan discussed the existing facility, pretreatment system, corrective action measurements and schedules of these corrective measures. The corrective measures were prepared in two phases. The first phase included steps to immediately reduce constituent concentration levels and the second phase created a sample protocol to evaluate the pretreatment facility's performance.
A food manufacturer and RMA worked together to evaluate alternatives for on-site process wastewater treatment. The engineering report prepared discussed the existing facility, wastewater characteristics, description of treatment alternatives, evaluation of these alternatives, conclusions and recommendations. Based on the facility's considerations RMA recommended from a technical standpoint two options, one for treatment and one for reuse. For the alternative involving no reuse RMA recommended an activated sludge treatment system with a DAF secondary clarifier unit.
