Water Reuse Implementation

An industrial chemical plant and RMA worked together to evaluate alternatives for wastewater recycling and pretreatment system upgrades. The engineering report prepared discussed the existing facility, evaluated the existing treatment system and wastewater characteristics, evaluated upgrade alternatives using pilot studies, evaluated these alternatives, and recommended an MBR system and recycled water nano-filtration system for consideration by the client. Based on the facility's considerations, RMA recommended, upgrading the existing SBR system to an MBR wastewater treatment system followed by a nano-filtration recycle water system. These improvements resulted in reuse being provided for makeup water for the scrubber systems with other possible future uses that will be evaluated over time.

 

Food Manufacturer

A food manufacturer and RMA worked together to evaluate alternatives for on-site process wastewater treatment and uses for reuse water. The engineering report prepared discussed the existing facility, wastewater characteristics, description of treatment and reuse alternatives, evaluation of these alternatives, conclusions and recommendations. Based on the facility's considerations, RMA recommended, from a technical standpoint two options, one for treatment and one for reuse. For the alternative involving reuse RMA recommended an MBR activated sludge system followed by reverse osmosis. These improvements resulted in reuse being provided for makeup water for the wet air scrubber systems with other possible future uses that will be evaluated over time.
